About Us

Our Setting

Lamb.jpg

Millmoot’s Little Boots is located on my husband’s family farm in Cossington. The farm plays a big part of our little one’s educational journey and we pride ourselves on the unique experiences and opportunities we can offer the children that attend here as a result of our farm.

We are a working farm so there are always plenty of tractors, hay bales and animals to see. We keep a beef herd and a small flock of sheep. We also keep a variety of other animals including chickens, pheasants, peacocks, ducks and goats, so children will have many opportunities to get stuck in with feeding the animals and the seasonal aspects of life on the farm!

Living on a farm means we have lots of fantastic outdoor spaces, it also means we spend

lots of time outside. As well as the large garden and mud kitchen area, we have a small vegetable patch and greenhouse out in the orchard, where the children can help grow their own fruit and vegetables in the spring and summer or get involved in apple, blackberry and pumpkin picking in the autumn.

Inside, we keep a dog (Raggy) and my two boys (when they’re not at school).

Children will have access to two playrooms stocked with age-appropriate toys and use of

the kitchen for mealtimes as well as messy activities including baking, arts and crafts and painting.

There is also a separate room for those little ones that need a quiet space to sleep.

We are a small setting catering for 10 children a day from the ages of 1-4 years old. We are a mixed setting, rarely splitting the age groups as we believe that each age group can learn an incredible amount from children of other ages; the older ones learn to be patient and supportive of those that are younger and the younger ones learn new skills and routines by watching the older ones.

Millmoot's Little Boots Childcare Ethos

Unique and Valuable

Think. Question. Experiment.

At Millmoot’s Little Boots Childcare, we support children to think for themselves, ask questions and explore new ideas.

We believe children do best in an environment where they feel valued, supported and understood. We recognise that every child is different, and we plan experiences around their individual strengths, interests and stage of development. This helps them grow in confidence and develop socially, emotionally and creatively.

We place a strong emphasis on developing independence. Children are encouraged to make choices, manage age-appropriate tasks for themselves, and take responsibility in ways that build confidence and resilience.

Through practical, hands-on activities and meaningful play, we encourage children to explore the world around them, build new skills and form positive relationships.

Tapestry Online Learning Journal

We use Tapestry an online learning journal to track children's learning and development. This is a fantastic way to share our busy days with you so every parent can feel involved each step of the way through their child's learning journey.
